Most have probably heard Brian Oxman's name mentioned or have seen him in the media.  He was one-half of the Michael Jackson defense team originally, along with Mark Geragos.  When Attorney Thomas Mesereau, Jr. was asked to join the defense team, he eventually fired Oxman.

There were some who were upset with Oxman's behavior, including his falling asleep in court.

Many have labeled Oxman in the past as the Jackson family lawyer, but this is a misnomer, according to sources close to the family who have asked to remain anonymous. According to these sources, Oxman does not represent the family, though he has at times represented Joe Jackson.

Since Michael's passing, we have seen Oxman on nearly every news channel and every documentary purporting to know the truth about Michael and stating emphatically over and over, that Michael Jackson had a severe drug addiction. He has claimed that he warned the family about Michael's drug addiction, and yet, he had no contact with Michael Jackson whatsoever after he was fired from the 2005 trial, according to relevant sources. He was not around Michael and therefore, would not be privy to any such drug addiction, had it occurred.

In fact, after Michael Jackson's death, Oxman called into CNN stating that Michael had a serious problem with prescription drug abuse...and yet, according to people who would know, Oxman had had no contact whatsoever with Michael Jackson after 2005.

Many have taken note that Oxman has taken every opportunity to put himself into the spotlight and to make false claims against Michael Jackson.

Truth always prevails.

Recently, Oxman and his wife, Maureen Jaroscak, were recommended for suspenion by the state bar for lying, dishonesty and being involved in an 8-year-long scheme to hijack a client's estate that was worth more than $500,000 with Jaroscak also willfully keeping money from a brother and sister after their parents died.

Roger Friedman: Oxman Recommended for Suspension By State Bar

The following document (below), from the AP newswire, goes in-depth into the charges and the judge's ruling. The judge recommended that both Oxman and his wife Jaroscak, be suspended from practicing law (Oxman for 3 years, Jaroscak for 2) and it goes into detail as to what happened and why these rulings were made. This ruling was filed on March 3, 2011.This case will now go to the Supreme Court for final decision.

From the State Bar Court of California's website:

California is the only state in the nation with independent professional judges dedicated to ruling on attorney discipline cases.

The State Bar of California investigates complaints of attorney misconduct. If the State Bar determines that an attorney's actions involve probable misconduct, formal charges are filed with the State Bar Court by the bar's prosecutors (Office of Chief Trial Counsel).

The independent State Bar Court hears the charges and has the power to recommend that the California Supreme Court suspend or disbar attorneys found to have committed acts of professional misconduct or convicted of serious crimes.

For lesser offenses, public or private reprovals may be issued by the State Bar Court.

Also, it can temporarily remove lawyers from the practice of law when they are deemed to pose a substantial threat of harm to clients or the public.

Lawyers may seek review of State Bar Court decisions in the California Supreme Court.

The State Bar Court conducts hearings and makes decisions and formal recommendations on disciplinary matters.

Since 1989, the court has used full-time judges appointed by the California Supreme Court, legislature and governor. The court is divided into two departments, a Hearing Department and a Review Department, headed by a presiding judge.

After reading this, you must ask yourself, Is this someone who has been truthful and honest, or someone who has shown himself to be dishonest in his actions?

Maybe the next time someone watches a documentary or sees a news program on Michael Jackson with Brian Oxman being used as a spokesperson, stating Michael Jackson is a drug addict and making negative statements about Michael's character, you should refer them to these 2 documents.

It's way too easy to get caught up in what is being said about Michael on television, and, if you'll notice, it's always the same tired sources used over and over again...people who are willing to lie and state false stories about Michael (and some who didn't know Michael Jackson as well as they proclaim). It's all in keeping with the image the media is trying so hard to keep as an eternal stronghold on Michael's legacy. ~

Disbarred Lawyer Brian Oxman Loses Lawsuit Against State Bar

"Remember the good old days when Brian Oxman was fired in the parking lot of the Santa Maria courthouse by Tom Mesereau? Oxman always presented himself on TV as “the Jackson family lawyer” or spokesman. He was neither. Randy Jackson forced Mesereau to put Oxman on Michael’s defense team in the 2005 child molestation trial. I was there the day Oxman fell asleep in court.

Flash forward: Oxman was disbarred last year by the California State Bar Association. His wife, also a lawyer, was suspended for 18 months. Oxman had nothing to lose, so he sued the Bar. Today, his case was dismissed, according to L.A.’s Westside Today.

Oxman was disbarred for mixing funds from a trust account with his own, then obstructing the investigation. He sued the Bar, and all its Board of Trustees. Again, what did he have to lose? So the whole thing was thrown it, and that’s it, he can’t practice law ever again.

A nice flourish as we get to the 5th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death. He is no doubt smiling widely in heaven over this one."
